Synthetic wigs are so much more affordable than real hair wigs, and the colors are more customizable. They also tend to hold their shape better once styled, so you won't spend as many hours curling, straightening, or otherwise styling your hair . 3. Have it custom-cut.

Once you have chosen and ordered a wig, make an appointment with your hair stylist. If your hair stylist does not have experience with wigs, find a different one who does. Even if the wig comes pre-cut into a style, you will want your stylist to make a few adjustments to ensure the length of the hair perfectly suits your face shape and styling preferences. Your stylist can also show you how to style and care for the wig so you're better able to do this once you start wearing the wig.
